Current MAF-Less solutions available on the market employ a failover map, wherein predetermined air mass values are assigned based on the measured air pressure ratio and engine speed. In this instance, the Engine Control Unit (ECU) does not directly measure air mass but relies on preset values.
To simplify, if modifications are made to the engine’s air flow (like a Short runner intake or Turbocharger), these default values will become inaccurate, resulting in the Oxygen Sensor (O2) making fuel trim corrections. It’s crucial to understand that this OEM failover mechanism is intended as a substitute for a malfunctioning MAF sensor. Removing the MAF unit also eliminates the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor, which is essential for calculating air density in the system.
This service require you to ship us your ECU at your expense, once the order is placed, we will get in touch with you for the shipment procedure.
